Running Through The Great Divide started as a conversation I was having with myself about how the things that have a hold on you are often the doorway to release as well. The song took a few years to develop and it wasn’t until I was at a point where I was dealing with the frustrations of feeling confined by the isolation of remote living did I see a way through this song. It was an understanding that my path freedom was to get out onto that big frozen lake and let the wild wind carry all those feelings away into the great expanse. We all search for relief and sometimes we find it through the doorways that we’ve been knocking our heads against.
