Seeds of Dreaming

The title track from our new album, Seeds of Dreaming, is probably the most personal song that I’ve written to date. It stems from a place of searching for hidden things, a longing for understanding, a place of forgiving and a belief in hope. I have been told by many Elders that Indigenous people will play a key role in finding balance in the world again, but first we must heal and balance ourselves. I have a steadfast and driving desire to contribute to our collective healing, and it comes from an unknown place. I can just trust that this hope was passed on with the intention that each generation will do it’s part. - Diyet

Diyet & The Love Soldiers' new album, 'Seeds Of Dreaming' reaches across the width of Americana music with a focus on lyrical stories that take you on a journey through Diyet’s roots. Each song is grounded in her life in Kluane Lake and her experience as an Indigenous woman living life while walking in two worlds. Inspired by vast landscapes, clashing and embracing worlds, Diyet’s heartfelt lyrics paint a picture of wildness, truth, hope, reconciliation, history and the community that surrounds her.

The nine songs on "Seeds of Dreaming' were written during the last 5 years of touring across Canada, Alaska, the circumpolar North & Europe. The album was recorded and produced by Love Soldier, Bob Hamilton at Old Crow Studios in Whitehorse, Yukon, in collaboration with Diyet and fellow Love Soldier, Robert van Lieshout. The majority of the musical unfolding happened over a week in January where Diyet and The Love Soldiers gathered a variety of Northern musicians to workshop and press record. The results of his session became the musical foundation for the album.
